Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

He said utility staff and officials were bracing for further attacks.
